The Imperial Challenge is a multi-sport challenging race with a low-key community vibe that celebrates springtime in Breckenridge. It starts with a 6-mile bike or run, followed by an uphill ski climb to the summit of Peak 8, reaching 12,987 feet!
Celebrate the spring skiing and riding season at Breck’s annual Splash Into Spring Pond Skim. The event will take place on Peak 8 for some slipping, sliding, and soaking up the sun.
Cheer on competitors as they show off their pond skimming skills while competing for Best Overall Skim, Best Costume, and Biggest Splash!
Rock out in Steamboat Square on weekends in March and April. The Bud Light Rocks the Boat Free Concert Series features Boot Juice (March 23), Maggie Rose (March 30), The Goonies (April 6), The Lil Smokies (April 13) and The Wailers (April 14). The concerts are from 3:30-5pm.
The Cardboard Classic, Steamboat's traditional rite of spring returns to the Steamboat Ski Area for the 42nd year. This wild and hilarious race features homemade cardboard crafts, constructed only from cardboard, glue, string, water based paint, duct tape, masking tape, balloons and other decorations, racing down Stampede to a hysterical finish. These ingenious creations make for an event not to be missed.
Taste of Vail is an unrivaled food and wine festival that gathers the most talented chefs, winemakers, brewers, distillers and culinary industry leaders. This festival infuses local flavor with top chefs, artisans, experts, and food enthusiasts from around the globe for a four-day event that happens the first weekend of April.
