Every Fourth of July, Breckenridge comes alive with patriotism, parties, and the annual Main Street Parade. The town celebrates with athletic competitions, live music, art festivals, family activities, and a few favorite small-town traditions.
7:00am - 11:00am – Independence Day 10k
Don’t miss this favorite kick-off to Breckenridge’s 4th of July celebration! This scenic 10K trail running race offers up some of the best views in the Breckenridge area, while finishing just in time to catch the Main Street parade and other festivities.
9:30am - 11:30am – Independence Day Parade & Firecracker 50
Breckenridge is excited for another year of our beloved Independence Day Parade. The Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race will lead off the parade at 9:30am and the parade will kick-off at 10:00am.

10:00am - 3:00pm – CIRQUE De USA Activities
Enjoy complimentary circus crafts and games, draw in our annual chalk art contest and participate in the dog fashion show.

12:00pm – Reading of the Declaration of Independence
Local speed skiing legend and Colorado Ski and Snowboard Hall of Famer, C.J. Mueller, will give a public reading of the Declaration of Independence following the parade.

6:00pm – National Repertory Orchestra: Fourth of July Spectacular
This year’s NRO 4th of July concert will start at 6:00pm and doors open at 5:30pm.

PARADE at 10AM
The Vail America Parade returns starting at 10am
The parade will progress from Golden Peak on Vail Valley Drive, then west to Hanson Ranch Road, north on Bridge Street, west on Gore Creek Drive, north across the International Bridge, west along Meadow Drive and finally through the Lionshead Mall to finish at approximately noon. The theme for the parade is “Red, White and Blues.”
MUSIC AT 2PM
Patriotic Concert
The Fourth of July Patriotic Concert is at 2 p.m. July 4 at the Ford Amphitheater featuring the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The concert is a benefit for the Vail Veterans Program. Tickets go on sale July 1 with a maximum of 4 tickets per person.
FIREWORKS AT 9:45pm
The fireworks show will return in 2023, conditions permitting. The show will be launched from Vail Mountain and will be visible from areas across town. See the map below for the view corridors for the show. You can view the show from anywhere that you have a clear view of the frontside of Vail Mountain.
