Another great Steamboat ski season draws to a close and it’s no secret that we like to close it out in outrageous fashion.

The annual Springalicous Festival promises bluebird days, free concerts, lift ticket deals, and classic end of season events like the Cardboard Classic, and the crowd favorite Splashdown Pond Skim.

The 2018 Springalicious Festival runs from April 1st-15th(closing day), and you are politely reminded/encouraged to bring your swimsuit and suitable fashionwear in case you get the urge to join in the fun!

This year’s closing event highlights include:

Bud  Light Rocks the Boat Free Concert Series

The Commonheart

April 7: 3:30 - 5:00pm at Gondola Square

With gritty vocals over rock riffs and horns, The Commonheart delivers an emotion-packed, soulful sound that lights up any stage. Frontman Clinton Clegg is a powerhouse who commands full attention with his limitless onstage energy and vocal range. The new album "Grown" is a remarkable display of each member's talent interlacing heavy blues, soul, and gospel influence across trumpet, saxophone, keys, guitar, and singers. The Commonheart's sound is a true testament to the past while completely holding its own as one of today's most promising acts.

The Last Bandoleros

April 14: 3:30 - 5:00pm at Gondola Square

The Last Bandoleros are a four-piece outfit blending Tex-Mex, country and rock n’ roll. Their story begins in San Antonio, Texas with guitarist/producer Jerry Fuentes who, during a musical pilgrimage to Manhattan, chanced to meet New York native, singer-songwriter/producer Derek James. The Last Bandoleros combine their unique cultural experiences with rare musical camaraderie and, as audiences will continue to discover, their exuberance and joy are contagious.

Robert Randolph and the Family Band

April 15 (Closing Day Concert): 3:30 - 5:00pm at Gondola Square

By the early 2000s, Randolph had begun applying his dazzling steel guitar technique to secular music, and from that grew the Family Band. The group’s sound was so different than anything else around that they were soon packing New York City clubs. The Family Band’s improvisational skills quickly made them mega-popular among the jam-band crowd, but for Randolph and his band mates, what they were doing was just an extension of what they’d always done.

Cardboard Classic

April 14: 10:00 - 11:30am at the base of the Steamboat Ski Area

A must-see! The Cardboard Classic, Steamboat's traditional rite of spring, returns to the Steamboat Ski Area for the 38th year. This wild and hilarious race features homemade cardboard crafts, constructed only from cardboard, glue, string, water-based paint, duct tape, masking tape, balloons and other decorations, racing down Stampede to a hysterical finish. This unique and creative event make it a highly anticipated event each year.
