Here are some of the top things to do this summer in the Steamboat Square base area (including some new fun!):
1. ENJOY THE NEW RANGE FOOD HALL
Adding a whole new look and excitement to the Steamboat Square and base area, locals and visitors alike are excited for the Grand Opening of the newest collection of food options on the mountain.
The Range Food & Drink Hall will have a collection of four food stops. Twister Tacos will serve street-style tacos and churros for dessert, Sunshine Bowl will offer a variety of ramen bowls, Pioneer Pies will feature pizza, and Why Not Sandwich Shop will serve fresh salads and sandwiches.
In addition, there will be a bar on each level and a spacious upper sun deck, prime for watching skiers or bikers on the mountain, concerts on the new stage, and soaking up rays.
Other wonderful base area restaurants include Truffle Pig, Cafe Diva, Slopeside Grill, The Paramount, Los Locos, Timber & Torch, & The Taco Beast.
3. ENJOY BASE AREA ACTIVITIES
Land Up fun in the base area includes fun such as a ropes course, bungee trampoline, and a bounce house. Details will be available soon here.
Shopping - While you’re visiting the Steamboat base area, make sure to check out the retail shops on the mountain that are open all summer including the Steamboat Bike Shop, Steamboat Mercantile, The Grand Gift Shop, Gondola General, Christy Sports, Sheraton Gift Shops, and more.
Movies on the Mountain is a fun family event, hosted most Saturdays starting July through August on the Torian Plum Lawn at the mountain. Movies are free and begin at sunset.
4. SCENIC GONDOLA RIDES
Take a ride up Mt. Werner and enjoy the views that can only be appreciated from Steamboat's eight-passenger gondola. The Steamboat Gondola will be open for scenic rides and hiking trail access this summer. Hours of operation are 10am-4pm and the current posted schedule is as follows:
