JULIA SALERNO
Growing up in Bavaria, Germany Julia fell in love with the mountains and its associated lifestyle at a young age. She graduated from the prestigious Institut Hotelier César Ritz in Le Bouveret, Switzerland, where she learned the finer points of hotel management as well as the hospitality industry. She moved to the U.S. in 2000, settling in the Vail Valley where she lives with her chocolate lab Marlo.
After working in Vail and Beaver Creek’s most luxurious hotels for 12 years, Julia then joined the Vail Valley Foundation where for the past 7 years she was a key part of the team that produced the wildly successful 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, as well as their signature year-round events. With her professional background in creating exceptional guest experiences in the Vail Valley, the position of General Manager for the Vail/Beaver Creek division of Moving Mountains is a natural fit for Julia.
She is a passionate outdoor mountain lifestyle enthusiast, enjoying skiing, hiking, and mountain biking along with supporting the local community by volunteering in various capacities.
