3 Awesome Off-Mountain Steamboat Activities
1. Tubing at Saddleback Ranch
Strap on your spurs, pull down your hat and ride Saddleback Ranch's tubing hill. Located just 15 miles west of Steamboat Springs, YEE-HAW HILL is sure to be the highlight of your vacation. The hill is groomed and equipped with a state of the art tube-tow lift system that attaches itself to the tube to transport you back to the top. From there, speed down one of the three runs on the hill on a large inner tube provided by the ranch. At the bottom, warm up in their brand new warming lodge, grab a bite to eat, a warm drink and hit the slope again.
Snow tubing is a fun winter recreation suitable for kids and adults of all ages, children 5 and under are free and must ride with an adult.

The World renowned Bridgestone Winter Driving School offers a full range of winter driving programs for all abilities, from the novice to the seasoned professional. Their snow and ice covered courses are some of the world’s finest, and their professional coaches will guide you toward more confident driving in challenging winter conditions.
3. Powdercat Skiing with Steamboat Powdercats
Guided backcountry snowcat skiing with Steamboat Powdercats is a unique experience, one that may reward you with the best day of skiing in your life. Though Mother Nature holds the cards to how powder-rich your day will be, they've put together a system with their guides, snowcats and infrastructure that should provide you with an excellent day in the Steamboat backcountry. They operate up to 3 heated snowcats daily which allows them to group guests by skiing ability so everyone is at their individual comfort level.
The terrain, located on Buffalo Pass, is conveniently just 25-min from downtown Steamboat Springs, so guests are typically skiing by 9:15 am. The skiing terrain is matched to the ability level of the group so it's very important to be honest when placing you and your group into each snowcat level.
