Good news! After scheduled upgrades and maintenance, the Steamboat Gondola is set to reopen for the summer season July 21 , 2017, and run through August 27th, also opening for Labor Day weekend.
The scenic gondola ride - not only beautiful in its own right, offering views of the Yampa Valley - gives riders access to hiking and biking trails, as well as lunch and happy hour at the top of Thunderhead Lodge. If you're a mountain bike but not up for the ride to the top, take the gondola (they have bike racks), and take a fun, winding trail down - believe us, it's still a workout. If you're with the kids, take a mild hike around up top, then eat lunch at Thunderhead. Truly - options for everyone.

Summer 2017 BONUS: The Steamboat Mountain Coaster will open August 2017!
This summer’s newest attraction, the Outlaw Mountain Coaster, is the longest coaster in North America at more than 6,280 linear feet. The track near Christie Peak Express descends more than 400 vertical feet, rises up to 40 feet above the ground, and features dips, waves, turns and 360-degree circles.
