With plenty of snowfall in SNOWvember, Breckenridge had an epic opening on November 9th, two days earlier than planned, with a sizeable amount of terrain available early season.
With 21 trails and 22 lifts available, Breckenridge is officially open for business on its 61st season with a 21-inch snow base and a season total of over 63 inches. Single-digit temps in late November allowed snowmakers to add to the snow base, providing early season guests with some beautiful bluebird ski days during the Thanksgiving weekend. Breckenridge has an annual snowfall of 335 inches.
Updates at Breckenridge Resort
After installing the brand-new Freedom SuperChair on Peak 7 last year, this winter the focus turns to Peak 8 and the Rip’s Ride chairlift which has been upgraded to a new, high-speed quad to enhance the learning and Ski & Snowboard School experience at this popular peak. The upgraded chair provides guests with faster access to Peak 8’s primary learning terrain, allows for more time spent on the snow, and provides easier and more convenient access from Rip’s Ride over to Peak 9.
With the intention of enhancing the experience at Breck’s most popular base area, the resort will continue to transform the Peak 8 base area experience next summer, with plans to conduct grading work and remove old building structures, and to upgrade 5-Chair to a high-speed quad for the 2023/24 winter season.
Breckenridge welcomed the new Freedom Super chair last season, located on the north side of Peak 7, and running alongside the existing Independence SuperChair, providing guests the opportunity to experience the wide-open and rolling terrain of Peak 7. The new lift was a game-changer for Breck's interconnected, peak-to-peak experience, providing skiers and riders an easy way to navigate from Peak 6 to Peaks 7 and 8.
