What better place is there to close out a decade than Steamboat Springs? Whether you’re ready to dance all night in your ski boots or plan to have your head hit the pillow by 10 pm, we’ve got the ultimate guide to ringing in the New Year in Steamboat, Colorado.
Since we’re all probably swearing off everything tasty as of January 1, we better make our last supper a sumptuous one! Steamboat has no shortage of decadent food for a New Year’s Eve feast, but reservations are strongly recommended.
Fireworks
Your first course definitely needs to be the fireworks show and torchlight parade - especially if you have little ones. The show starts at 5:30 pm at the base of the ski mountain. Watch as the Steamboat SnowSports instructors ski down the mountain to create a spectacular on-snow parade lit only by torches. A fleet of twinkly light adorned Steamboat snowcats will lead the parade. After the torchlight parade, a fireworks display will illuminate the sky and kick off the evening celebrations.
Night skiing begins at 5:30 pm giving quite the cool vantage point for firework viewing. You could also ride the roller coaster for a wild way to close out the decade. Or relax and just watch from the outdoor patio and firepit area at Timber and Torch or at Truffle Pig (a favorite for our One Steamboat Place guests).
Steamboat restaurants
There are plenty of eateries in which to splurge after the fireworks. Reservations are STRONGLY encouraged, though. Many spots are already booked up, but a few of our top picks at any time of year still have a few seats left on New Year’s Eve including Besame, Table 79, and newest on the scene, Tahk Omikase Sushi. Pop some bottles of bubbly to ring in the New Year with your favorite foodies, or head out after dinner to these Steamboat New Year’s Eve celebrations.
