Breckenridge treats us with a wildflower explosion come summertime. Mother Nature takes the wheel and puts on a show, painting our fields and meadows in vibrant reds, yellows, oranges, and purples. Wildflower season is truly enchanting - we don't want you to miss it!
1. Mohawk Lakes
Head south of Breckenridge to this series of trails. Hike the single-track through the woods or keep driving and hike near Continental Falls to the upper lakes. Enjoy stunning wildflowers along the main route. This is one of Colorado's best hikes with rushing waterfalls, large lakes, and mountain vistas - enjoy the view!
2. Hoosier Pass
This 2-mile hike traverses the Continental Divide. At almost 11,500 feet, these fields are densely filled with wildflowers. Hoosier Pass brings the variety with over 100 species of flowers here during the peak season. Expect enchantment.
3. Black Powder Pass
Enjoy a meadow filled with wildflowers and stunning views on this 3.4-mile roundtrip hike. Views of Quandary Peak and Tenmile Range keep you company while climbing this trail. Expect to see chiming bells, purple larkspur, Indian Paintbrush, and King's and Queen's Crowns along the way.
4. Cucumber Gulch
If you're looking for a wildflower hike with beautiful views, right in the heart of Breckenridge, you've found it! This easy, 2.9-mile hike is accessed via Ski Hill Road. Enjoy views of the Tenmile Range and meadows filled with a rainbow of wildflowers.
5. Saw Mill Creek
If you have the family in tow, Saw Mill Creek is a great option. This hike is short, does not have much elevation gain and is easily accessible. This hike is in a shaded valley which brings out a whole different variety of wildflowers. Enjoy the view from the shade while crisscrossing the various bridges over the brook.
