Alpine Slide, Steamboat
Need to get away from the city and only have 48 hours in Steamboat? Here’s our recommendations for experiencing the best of Steamboat.
Friday Evening
Set the tone for the weekend - head to your favorite restaurant for happy hour. Love pizza? - then head to Mambo’s. Prefer to sip wine by the river? - then Sweet Pea is the place for you. Want to nibble on some gourmet plates then the bar at Bistro C.V. awaits you. Ciao Gelato is a great family option - kids (and adults !) love the the home-made pizza and gelato. Sit by the river and savor your ice cold gelato as the sun is setting.
Saturday - Play Outside
Early morning risers should head to the Yoga Center of Steamboat - the view is worth getting up for you. Then it’s time to hit the trail by bike or on foot. If you only have time for one hike, then opt for Fish Creek Falls. Choose to stroll just to the overlook or hike up to the second falls. Wildflowers are in full swing so make sure you bring the camera. Mountain bikers can spend the day playing on Emerald Mountain - but remember, what goes up, must come down! If you’re a road biker, then spin out to 20 mile mine. The scenic Core Trail along the Yampa River is a family friendly option. Combine it with the Alpine slide at Howelsen Hill for a exhilarating day of adventure. Other options include fishing, horseback riding and ATV tours.
Sunday - Relax

Old Town Hot Springs, Steamboat
Wake up late, then head to one of Steamboat’s breakfast joints. Sit outside at Freshies or Creekside and enjoy an endless stream of fresh coffee! Too hot to do anything? Rent some tubes downtown and tube the Yampa River. Put in at Walton Creek/Mount Werner intersection and take out downtown before the library. Old Town Hot Springs is a fun option for the whole family - adults can soak in the natural thermal water will kids play on the slide, climbing wall and the Wibit!
