Steamboat Springs is known for many things:  world-class skiing, western roots, gold-level biking, recreational opportunities galore….and family.

Yes, Steamboat is one of the most family-friendly, and family-fun, communities we know. In fact, it’s why many of us have come to call this town home.  It’s a wonderful place to raise a family - or, if you’re not quite so lucky, to vacation with your family.

In the winter there is, of course, skiing for all ages, with a top-rated ski school and abundant after-skiing activities to boot.  And there are just as many fun options in the summer (heck, maybe more) for the whole family to enjoy.

Alpine Slide
The Howler Alpine Slide is fun for the entire family. Enjoy scenic views of downtown Steamboat Springs as you ride a chairlift to the top of historic Howelsen Hill. Using a sled provided to you at the top of the lift, you are in control of your exhilarating ride as you wind down a 2,400 foot track through the bends and curves of the natural landscape of beautiful Howelsen Hill. Proceeds from The Howler Alpine Slide benefit the young athletes of Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club.
