What a year it’s been in Ski Town, USA®….and it’s still only January!  We’ve had 50th Birthday celebrations galore (yes, the ski area is celebrating 50 years of world class skiing, 1963-2013), a 15th Anniversary to celebrate here at Moving Mountains (1998-2013), and now, coming next week, the 100th Annual Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival.

Hey, you can never have too much fun, right?

Begun as a simple “service to the community” in 1914 (in other words, something fun to break up the long winters!), Steamboat’s Winter Carnival has soared to new and bigger heights, now ranking in National Geographic’s Top 10 List of Winter Carnivals. Indeed, locals and knowing-tourists alike look forward to Winter Carnival all year, particularly for must-see events like the famed Lighted Man and often-comical Street Events.

Intrigued? You should be.  If you’ve been thinking of making a trip to the ‘Boat this season, Winter Carnival is a fun time to do it.  See below for a complete list of this year’s events.
