The spring season (“mud season,” as locals call it) in Steamboat you could say is pretty quiet. Quiet, anyways, as compared to the winter or summer seasons which bring spikes in tourism and second-home owners enjoying their Steamboat properties. Yes, spring in Steamboat offers a much-needed “breather” to locals, and some great dining deals to boot!
Spring in Steamboat is pretty fabulous, actually. Steamboat’s hiking and biking trails may, indeed, be a bit muddy, but they are ripe for the taking, with barely a soul in sight and an influx of wildlife waking up after their winter slumbers. And with the melting snow, everything is so green, and the rivers are raging – quite a sight! Combined with the fabulous dining deals at many Steamboat restaurants (a sort of a “thank you” to the locals, and to any tourists who decide to pay Steamboat a visit at this time), you can’t beat spring in the ‘Boat!
