Steamy events and hot deals - Steamboat is Springalicious!

Cardboard Snow Race

Show some skin at the Cardboard Classic

It’s time to shed a few layers and dive into the steamy side of Steamboat. In spite of an occasional snowstorm, spring is in full swing. With live music, silly events and hot lift ticket deals,  you’d be crazy not to show some skin in these parts - don’t forget the sunscreen!

Tweet this! $99 4-day ski pass! Free music w/Dirty Heads & Donavon Frankenreiter! 3 hot events: Rail Rodeo, SmartWool Cardboard Classic & Splashdown Pond Skim! (that’s 140 characters - spread the word!)

The Springalicious $99 4-pack pass gets you any four days you want on the mountain from April 2 to closing day on April 11th. This is no April Fool’s Day joke! Plus, buy this pass and ski Friday afternoons FREE!  And with the lifts open later for spring, that’s a fully-loaded offer! Two free Friday afternoons, two weekends of two-day skiing for less than $25 per day!

While April could bring snow showers, one forecast you can count on is free live music accompanied by copious kegs of flowing beer.   Slide down the mountain and join the crowd at the Bud Light Rocks the Boat stage smack in the middle of Gondola Square.

Saturday, April 3rd at 3 p.m. dance in your shirtsleeves and ski boots to the reggae-infused hip hop rock rhythms of The Dirty Heads.

On Closing Day, Sunday, April 11, same time same place, groove to the surfer sounds of Donavon Frankenreiter.

The entertainment doesn’t end with free music! Check out the Rail Rodeo on April 3rd during the Dirty Heads concert. Professional snowboarders and skiers will show off their tricks in this exhibition rail jam event.

For three decades Steamboat has celebrated spring by constructing crafts of cardboard held together by nothing but string and duct tape. At the SmartWool Cardboard Classic on Saturday, April 10th teams will show off their creations and then attempt their maiden (and final) voyage down the slope without  falling out or  falling apart.

Say your final goodbye to the season while watching a few hardy souls attempt to ski or snowboard across a frozen pond… costumes optional! The Splashdown Pond Skimming Competition starts at 1 p.m.
