Big snow, bowl games and no Charlie Sheen in Steamboat Springs

Who is #1?

While it is often hard to answer that question in college football, we know who is #1 in Colorado skiing - we are! Steamboat has 2,676 acres open for skiing & riding - that’s more than any other resort in Colorado and last night we got pounded with another 11 inches!

If bowl games and snow are your favorite mix for your  New Year’s Eve cocktail then Steamboat is the place for you. We are saying goodbye to 2009 by watching the white curtain fall with the more snow is in the forecast!

Top three activities for New Year’s weekend in Steamboat:

1. Ski or ride big snow: The mountain just keeps getting better! With the most terrain open in Colorado and the big fat flakes falling as we write this, more powder days are on the way!

2. Watch bowl games: ‘Tis the season for college football at its best. If you plan your New Year’s schedule around kickoff times, you can tune in from our town bars, on-mountain ski lodges or enjoy from the comfort of your own luxury home.

3. Celebrity spotting: Unlike other Colorado ski resorts, Steamboat’s stars usually go under cover. However, we have heard rumors that Brittney Spears was once spotted here.  Other celebrities who prefer the slopes of Steamboat are Danny DeVito & Rhea Perlman, Evander Holyfield, Tom Cruise and Bill Murray. You never know who you might see, however we know who we won’t see: Charlie Sheen…(!)

Happy New Year 2010!
