Robin & Heather Craigen

robin.jpgRobin Craigen : President

Many years in the European Ski Travel industry in the 80's, including two years working in chalets in the French Alps, provided the experience to develop a luxury lodging and catered chalet program in Steamboat Springs.

He is a keen skier and snowboarder in the winter, taking advantage of the many powder days that come each year.  In summer, he bikes everywhere both on the mountain and around the many roads in the valley and serves on the board of Routt County Riders, the local bicycle club and cycling advocacy group, as President.

Robin's organizational skills always kept the ship running smoothly in the islands. As a professional yachtsman for several years, he covered many ocean miles. He has competed in many international regattas and offshore races including the Sydney-Hobart, Newport - Bermuda, New York - Southampton Trans-Atlantic, and Fastnet Races.

Heather Craigen : VP / Catering Director

Heather's cooking is legendary in Steamboat where she oversees the menus and food preparation for all of our chalets and catered events.  She has appeared several times on Steamboat TV18's cooking show and breakfast TV and was featured on the cover of the Food Section of the Denver Post.

Her cooking career began on a yacht in the Caribbean and she refined her skills at Cordon Bleu, the Culinary Institute of America, and at the International School of Baking in Oregon.  She has authored her own cookbook - "Simple Pleasures" which highlights some of her most successful creations, plus many old favorites.

She has skied since her high school years but switched to snowboarding on arrival in Steamboat. Now she alternates between the two disciplines as she attempts to keep up with her kids, Maddie & Chili.

Elisabeth MullenElisabeth Mullen : Reservations Manager

Elisabeth comes to Moving Mountains from a lengthy career in high-end hospitality.  She came to Steamboat after 18 months as National Sales Manager for the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs.  In 2008, after a five year term as Senior Sales Manager at the Steamboat Grand, she moved to the Highmark boutique hotel to lead the roll-out for their innaugural Winter Season.

Continuing her quest for new challenges in specialized lodging, she joined the Moving Mountains Team in March 2009 and now heads up our Reservations Team.

Elisabeth is an avid traveler having lived in the UK for a year, journeyed throughout Europe, and tries to visit the Caribbean at least once a year.  She loves to ski, hike, and cook and is our resident office movie buff.

DonnaSnowshoeing.jpgDonna Laham: Accounting Manager

The Curse of the Yampa has brought her back to Steamboat Springs, her favorite place on Earth, where she enjoys snowboarding and snowshoeing in winter and hiking, biking and going to the rodeo in summer.  Describing herself as a "jack of all trades," Donna looks forward to creating lasting memories for Moving Mountains guests.

Alex PallutAlex Pallut : Guest Services Manager

Alex's love for the outdoors brought her to Steamboat Springs nine years ago when she traded rainy England for the Rocky Mountains.  Since then she has pursued a career in the outdoor industry as a travel guide. As a biking and hiking guide for Backroads International, her adventures have taken her to the hill top towns of Tuscany, the medieval villages of Provence, and the mountain hamlets of Switzerland.  Then Alex swapped her guiding hat to work with Backroads management team to create unforgettable vacations from behind the scenes.  She is excited to join the Moving Mountain's team so that she can create one of a kind vacations in her home town.

When she's not in the office, Alex can be found carving fresh tracks in the snow, hiking a mountain, or practicing yoga.  She loves speaking French and Italian, cooking with friends, and capturing special moments through her lens. She has just returned from a year of traveling which involved trekking in Patagonia and exploring the adventure island of Sumatra, Indonesia with her sisters.

RileyRace.jpgRiley Polumbus : Marketing and Communications Manager

Riley moved to Steamboat in August 1999 seeking a shorter commute to ski, bike and hike. Having grown up an “outdoor girl” in Evergreen, Colorado, she explored many of Colorado’s mountain towns and ski areas, and chose Steamboat over others for its community feel.

Riley joins the Moving Mountains team with over eight years of public relations experience in Steamboat Springs. In addition to Moving Mountains, she works in the PR department at Yampa Valley Medical Center. Riley often contributes to Steamboat Magazine and the regional biking publication, Mountain Flyer. She is also a Straight Talk Snow Reporter for the Steamboat Ski Area. Out of the office she spends summer and fall in the saddle of one of her bikes, and winters telemark skiing or playing ice hockey for a local women's hockey team.
