Raul has become an integral team member at Moving Mountains and he has been in Steamboat long enough to almost be considered a local. He has assisted with office operations, chalet management, reservations and guest services while building on experience gained working for the Steamboat ski mountain for several previous seasons. In both Steamboat and Six Flags amusement parks, he received awards for exceptional customer service. His knowledge and enthusiasm for Steamboat is evident as soon as you meet him.
Raul also made his name with Comunidad Integrada, a non-profit organization based in Steamboat that works to build and promote an integrated community.
His role included publishing a bi-weekly column in a local newspaper. He was also written up in the Steamboat Magazine for his contributions.
Raul hails from Mexico City but has also lived in Ecuador, Panama, Dominican Republic, and Kyrgyzstan before making a home in Steamboat.
He likes to snowboard and gets out on the mountain whenever the chance presents itself. Raul's many other talents include an amazing ability to smile at all times -which always goes down well with people on vacation!
Jenna hails from the 'land down under' as most people would know it, born and raised on the NSW Central Coast of Australia. After high school she obtained a hospitality operations traineeship, gaining valuable experience and knowledge in all aspects of the hospitality industry.
Jenna first discovered Steamboat in winter 2011/2012 on her first overseas holiday to America.
She fell in love with the Colorado Rockies, champagne powder and the small country ski town 'Steamboat Springs'.
She has since travelled across America and Canada but her favorite remains the beauty of the Rocky Mountains.
Jenna leads a healthy, active lifestyle with a passion for sport and the outdoors. She enjoys skiing, touch football, and even watching the NFL. She loves being with people and learning about their lifestyles. You'll find her always on the go, smiling, with an enthusiastic mind and good sense of humor
Renee is another world traveler and when she is not skiing she will be in the kitchen where her passion lies. Before starting with Moving Mountains she was working as a Food and Beverage Manager with hotel chains such as Mantra and Millennium in Australia and New Zealand and prior to this she lived in the French Alps where she led and managed catered ski chalets and cooked in private chateaux’s.
Renee started cooking at an early age and took on her first restaurant when she was 23, she has travelled the world and worked in various cities and ski resorts but still calls Australia home.
Caroline has lived in London for the past 9 years, first going to University and then staying on to work in the charity sector.
Her day job was working in an office and evenings and weekends were filled with courses in baking and cookery.
After many years of baking celebration cakes, i.e., birthday and wedding, Caroline started her own baking business.
This accomplishment fueled her passion for food and launched her venture into working and learning as much about baking as possible including enrolling in a Chef’s Academy in Central London.
In her spare time, Caroline likes to keep fit, bake and spend time with friends and family.
She is a novice skier and has high aspirations to improve her skiing and learn to board during her stint in Steamboat Springs.
Scott is a born and bred South African, who has a fond love for the United States.
He grew up on his family apple and wine farm situated in the Elgin Valley, outside Cape Town, South Africa. In 2011, after graduating from the University of Cape Town, Scott decided to join the Moving Mountains team for a season before starting his career in South Africa.
Having thoroughly enjoyed his Steamboat experience, he decided to re-join the team for yet another season, taking a break from his current role as an environmental consultant for the past 2.5 years.
Scott loves the outdoors, spending most of his time riding his mountain bike or trail running. He is very outgoing, enjoys new experiences and meeting groups of people from all walks of life.
Kristi grew up in Hong Kong and moved to sunny South Africa when she was just 7 years old, to the coastal town of Hermanus, famous for its whale watching. She recently completed a degree in Biokinetics/ Physiotherapy at the University of Stellenbosch. Kristi has a great sense of humour and seeks challenges and adventures at every corner, much like a child, which augments her love for children.
She is an extremely balanced and diverse individual who leads an active lifestyle and has passion for the outdoors. Her love of sport has allowed her to work with rugby teams such as SA Sevens and her local side, Western Province. She has participated in a variety of sports such as hockey, golf, tennis, squash, and surfing, but is always seeking to experience new things. She has never been skiing but is willing to fall a thousand times before mastering the sport. She also has a keen sense of art and has heard that Steamboat Springs has aesthetic landscapes one cannot find anywhere else in the world.
Michael hails from Stellenbosch, a small town near Cape Town in South Africa, where he spends most days wearing shorts and flip flops. After recently finishing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he is seeking an adventure before pursuing engineering-related work. Before visiting Steamboat, Michael travelled across Southern Africa to countries including Botswana, Mozambique and Namibia.
Michael leads an active lifestyle and is working on improving his skiing skills, as well as trying snowboarding in the legendary Steamboat powder. He also enjoys sports such as trail running, cycling, open water swimming and water skiing. He is an enthusiastic, outgoing individual that enjoys meeting people and making new friends.
Michael was born and brought up in Cape Town, South Africa and has recently completed a degree in Geomatics. He has continued his enjoyment of sport throughout school and university, in particular hockey, golf, rugby and swimming. Michael is outgoing, enjoys meeting people and he is able to relate to all age groups. This has been of great benefit when doing part-time work in a restaurant and tutoring.
Growing up, Michael learned to appreciate the outdoors with family beach holidays, and traveling overseas, in particular Italy, Switzerland, the UK and Scotland, Florida and Thailand. Michael’s enjoyment of meeting and interacting with different people through travel, work and studies is obvious in his enthusiasm as a member of our team.
