Tony HancockA World traveller, Tony has spent time in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Peru & Canada over the past 15 years.
After working two ski seasons in New Zealand and trekking extensively in Nepal, he found that he was most at home in the fresh mountain air of Colorado. This is his 10th winter in Steamboat so you can figure that he likes working here!
Tony is not a person who can sit still for long and his limitless supply of energy is a great asset to the team.
Tony is a keen skier and snowboarder. His smiling face is either because powder is in the forecast or the fact that he lured his girlfriend Britta to join our team.
Britta Kern
Britta spent the last 10 years as a consultant in the world of advertising and sports marketing in Germany. She escaped to Steamboat for the first time early 2005 to spend some time with her boyfriend Tony and stayed 3 months.
Now she returns for her fourth season with the Moving Mountains team.
She has developed a love for the mountain life and chalet hospitality. Her true love is reserved for the Moving Mountains Labs, Elli & Lola (Tony is slowly getting used to this...).
With pounds of enthusiasm, a pinch of "german discipline" and lots of humor she will be the dimples of your already big smile!
Raul Leon
Raul has become an integral team member at Moving Mountains and he has been in Steamboat log enough to almost be considered a local. With Moving Mountains he has assisted with office operations, chalet management, reservations and guest services building on experience gained working for the Steamboat ski mountain for several previous seasons. In Steamboat and with Six Flags amusement parks he received awards for exceptional customer service. His knowledge and enthusiasm for Steamboat is evident as soon as you meet him.
Raul also made his name here with Comunidad Integrada, a nonprofit organization based in Steamboat that works to build and promote an integrated community.
His role included publishing a bi-weekly column in a local newspaper. For this he was also written up in the Steamboat Magazine.
Raul hails from Mexico City but has also lived in Ecuador, Panama, Guatemala, and Dominican Republic before making a home in Steamboat.
He likes to snowboard and gets out on the mountain whenever the chance presents itself. Raul's many other talents include a great ability to smile at all times, which always goes down well with people on vacation!

Lulu Martin
It seems that cooking has been in Chef Lulu's blood since the beginning of time. She began in her Mum's kitchen making home-made pasta from the age of 8. Her education continued at CU in Boulder and culminated in a degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University in Denver. The lure of skiing brought her to the Colorado Rockies. Since graduating she has worked in Aspen (Hotel Jerome & Lulu Wilsons) and Vail (La Tour) before she came to Steamboat to joing the MM Team.
Lulu doesn't stand still for long. If she is not cooking she is usually skiing, biking or hiking. Like many of our staff she loves to travel and has explored the UK and Europe as well as Singapore and Bali.
Karen McNish
As the daughter of a submariner, Karen spent her childhood living in Navy bases in the US and Pacific.
After a spell as an analytical chemist in Texas, Karen moved to Scotland and started teaching at a private school in Edinburgh.
Scotland offered an outdoor playground of whitewater kayaking, ski touring and sea kayaking.
She decided to combine a love of cooking with a love of boats and went to cooking school to formalize all those years of party-giving. She apprenticed in two of Edinburgh’s top restaurants and in a Highland hunting lodge. From there she worked on boat-based wildlife tours and private yachts around the world.
However boats seem to congregate around warm, sunny beaches and Karen felt a yearning for the white stuff; hence her choice to work with Moving Mountains as a cook in Steamboat.
Karen’s ski touring has led her to week long ski trips in New Zealand, the Swiss and Austrian Alps, Norway, BC, and Colorado. She is happiest lugging a backpack UP a slope as her downhill telemarking skills are always a source of amusement for onlookers.
Karen is looking forward to the end of the season when she will perhaps be able to make it down the slope without falling.
