You can now book dogsledding, horsebackriding, snowmobiling and other fun activities online, or we can arrange these for you. Or just relax by taking a dip into our famous Strawberry Hotsprings - your body will be thankful for it after a hard day skiing.
Sleigh Ride Dinner
There is nothing quite as peaceful as taking a sleigh ride at night
with the only sounds being the horses walking through the snow, the
bells jingling on the harness and the distant howl of a coyote. Relax,
cuddle up with a nice warm wool blanket (provided), and take a look at
the stars and the moon's light making the snow glisten like diamonds.
It doesn't get any better than this!
Saddleback Ranch will pick you up with a shuttle van from the front
door of your Chalet and take you on a 40 minute sleigh ride to the
Double Dollar Lodge. You will be greeted with a warm cup of hot
chocolate or hot apple cider and the smell of delicious home-cooked
meal. After dessert, kick up your heels and do a little dancing with
your partner or let a real Rancher teach you how to calf rope. You are
sure to have a great time! It's a very family friendly experience!
Tubing
Strap on your spurs, pull down your hat and ride Saddleback Ranch's
YEE-HAW TUBING HILL. Located just 15 miles west of Steamboat Springs,
YEE-HAW HILL is sure to be the high-light of your vacation.
The tubing
hill is groomed and equipped with a state of the art tube-tow lift
system that attaches itself to the tube to transport you back to the
top. From there speed down the hill on a large inner tube provided by
the ranch. At the bottom grab
a bite to eat or a warm drink in the warming lodge, and hit the slope again. Let us know if you
want to risk a ride and we are happy to make a reservation for you!
Horseback Riding
Join the Ranchers from Saddleback Ranch on a 1 1/2 hour horseback ride
over the hills and through the trees of snowy Saddleback Ranch. Gaze at
the Flattops, Sleeping Giant and Mt. Werner. Let them show you where
their ancestors homesteaded the ranch more than 100 years ago. After
your ride, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate and a freshly baked
cookie.
With Del's 3 Triangle Ranch you follow scenic Elk and Deer trails
in a wilderness-type environment. Once you leave the corral, you won't
see a sign of civilization until you return.
For a truly unique experience, take a break from skiing and enjoy this
2 hour ride in the snow! Their surefooted horses guide you through the
snow-covered aspen trees in the silence of winter's simple beauty.
Snowmobiling
Saddleback Ranch offers a guided tour that goes over groomed trails and
open meadows on private land. Enjoy the opportunity to see the most
gorgeous views of the Flattops, Mt. Werner, Sleeping Giant and the
Zirkles. The tour is 2 hours long with pickup times at 8:30 a.m. &
1:00 p.m. daily. After the ride, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate at
headquarters.
Or enjoy the most beautiful mountain sunset and an adventurous 1.5 hour
evening snowmobile tour of moonlit Saddleback Ranch. After arriving at the Long Horn Lodge, hit the slopes at YEE-HAW HILL for half
an hour of tubing, exclusively open for the dinner snowmobile tour.
After snow tubing indulge yourself with a delicious, (fourth generation
family recipe), all you can eat spaghetti dinner served with fresh
garlic bread, romaine salad dressed with a garlic vinaigrette dressing,
and homemade desert.
You can also go on a scenic ride with Steamboat Snowmobile Tours (SST)
at Rabbit Ears Pass. At a 10,000 foot altitude, they offer the very
best champagne powder on high mountain meadows and groomed trails. You
will tour a recently expanded trail system driving a new Polaris
snowmobile equipped with handwarmers and all the latest conveniences
for your comfort.
