Moving Mountains Team

Robin Craigen

Robin Craigen : President / CEO

Many years in the European Ski Travel industry in the 80's, including two years working in chalets in the French Alps, provided the experience to develop a luxury lodging and catered chalet program in Steamboat Springs.

He is a keen skier and snowboarder in the winter, taking advantage of the many powder days that come each year. In summer, he bikes everywhere both on the mountain and around the many roads in the valley.  He founded the Board of Directors and served as President of Routt County Riders, the local cycling club. His passion is endurance bike racing and has completed races that include the Leadville 100 MTB, Joberg2C, Park City Point 2 Point and L'Etape du Tour. As a professional yachtsman for several years, he covered many ocean miles competing in international regattas and offshore races including the Sydney-Hobart, Newport-Bermuda, and the Fastnet Race.

As President / CEO of Moving Mountains he is delighted to lead a strong, energetic and talented team dedicated to providing the best vacation experiences in Colorado.

Heather Craigen

Heather Craigen : VP / Catering Director

Heather's cooking is legendary in Steamboat where she oversees the menus and food preparation for all of our chalets and catered events. She has appeared several times on Steamboat TV18's cooking show and breakfast TV and was featured on the cover of the Food Section of the Denver Post.

Her cooking career began on a yacht in the Caribbean and she refined her skills at Cordon Bleu, the Culinary Institute of America, and at the International School of Baking in Oregon.  She has authored her own cookbook "Simple Pleasures" which highlights some of her most successful creations, plus many old favorites.

She has skied since her high school years but switched to snowboarding on arrival in Steamboat. Now she alternates between the two disciplines as she attempts to keep up with her kids, Maddie and Chili.

Joan Allsberry

Joan Allsberry : Sales Manager

A California native, Joan and husband, Todd, stopped in Steamboat for “one night” 20 years ago and never left.  She has worked in a sales capacity nearly her entire career, most recently as business development manager for a global company providing electronic discovery services to corporate and law firm clients.  Joan graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling and from California State University Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance.

Joan and Todd have three daughters, the eldest of whom is married and expecting their first grandchild.  Joan loves family time, running trails, telemark skiing, gardening, vintage cars and the arts.

Peggy Axtell

Peggy Axtell : Reservations Supervisor

Peggy has worked in the ski industry in customer service and marketing for many years. She grew up skiing on the east coast and after her husband and son came to Steamboat for a ski race, the family made the move from New York. They love their new life in the mountains and enjoy sharing their enthusiasm for Steamboat with many visitors.

Peggy has enjoyed fundraising for non-profits and event planning. She loves to help families plan their reunions, ski trips and summer vacations to Steamboat.

With three teenagers, she and her husband are busy enjoying all that Steamboat has to offer, including hiking, biking, hunting and skiing.

Raul Leon

Raul Leon : Reservations Specialist / Latin American Sales

Raul has become an integral team member at Moving Mountains and he has been in Steamboat long enough to almost be considered a local. Year-round he is an important member of our Reservations Team working with our many Latin American guests and in Winter he trains and directs the Catered Chalet Team. His knowledge and enthusiasm for Steamboat is evident as soon as you meet him.

Raul hails from Mexico City but has also lived in Ecuador, Panama, Dominican Republic, and Kyrgyzstan before making a home in Steamboat. He likes to snowboard and gets out on the mountain whenever the chance presents itself. Raul's many other talents include an amazing ability to smile at all times - which always goes down well with people on vacation!

Stephanie Stevenson

Stephanie Stevenson : Operations Manager

Stephanie was born and raised in Southern California. Steph moved to Steamboat with her husband and 4 daughters to live the Colorado dream, which she is enthusiastically doing while working at Moving Mountains.

Stephanie is a detailed oriented professional with an eye for perfection. Her goal is to have all of our residences shine while exceeding the expectations of each owner and guest. Stephanie is responsible for organizing, scheduling and overseeing the daily functions of our operations team. When not at work you’ll find Steph enjoying both summer and winter outdoor sports  with her family and Bernese Mountain Dog Beau.

Megan Jennings

Megan Jennings : Guest Services Specialist

Megan moved to Steamboat from Chicago, Illinois, where her large Italian family still resides, to fulfill her dream of living in the mountains. She joins the Moving Mountains team with lots of experience gained as a travel agent for the Steamboat Ski Area.  Now she is ready to share her knowledge and love of Steamboat as well as her can-do attitude with new and returning guests.

In the summer, Megan takes advantage of Steamboat’s many hiking trails and spends much of her downtime hiking and relaxing after floating down the Yampa River. In the winter, you will often find her enjoying the mountain on her snowboard.  In keeping with her Chicago roots she is a keen fan of the Blackhawks ice-hockey team and she follows them with a passion when she isn't making sure everyone is enjoying Steamboat as much as she does.

Britt Dick

Britt Dick : Guest Services Specialist

Britt wandered into Steamboat on her 30th birthday with the intention of staying for one winter season to do research on local trees. The famed “Yampa Valley Curse” had a different plan for her, however, and one short season turned into a permanent settlement. Being an archaeology/anthropology aficionado, she dug right in to the native foods, flavors, footprints, and flares that set this special little Western ranching community apart from the rest. She joined the Moving Mountains Guest Services team to help spread the joy that she uncovered during her life-altering Steamboat dig to new and returning guests from all over the country and world.

When Britt isn’t at the Moving Mountains hub, you can find her tagging mountain peaks near and far, exploring local trails on foot or bike, semi-gracelessly pointing a snowboard or skis downhill on fresh snow, reading a book about apes or dirt, throwing something breakable on a potter’s wheel, inspecting a new beer (or three), cheering on the Green-and-Gold, and hopping last-minute trains and planes to anywhere. Most importantly, you will almost always find her big ol’ Great Pyrenees/St. Bernard mix named “Moose” (aka. the love of her life) in tow.”

Sean Schimmel

Sean Schimmel : Executive Assistant / Marketing Coordinator

As our Marketing Coordinator and Executive Assistant, Sean works closely with all branches of the company to ensure that our properties are widely promoted and well represented in a highly competitive market. When he isn’t at work, Sean enjoys early morning skiing with bluebird skies, mountain biking on Emerald, and coaching and playing soccer.
